About Digital Asset Management -DAM-
Digital asset management (DAM) is a concept of centralizing the management of digital assets in media production. It can deal with material data such as photos, texts, illustrations, video, audio, and CAD to contents such as catalogs, graphic designs, videos, and web sites. By using DAM a substantial increase in productivity for the production environment can be achieved by sharing, and abolishing overlapping data, or by reusing the information stored.
With access from the internet or via a local network environment, anyone that has access permissions can obtain the information stored in the DAM system. Vital features in DAM include, management/confirmation of all data according to the preview, flexible usage of metadata by registration, deletion, changes in the fields, download, upload of data, and the convenient transcoding or format conversion according to the media.
